  9. LOCATE is a system for finding out which files contain which words.
  10. It consists of two programs INDEX and LOCATE.  INDEX scans files and
  11. builds an index.  LOCATE uses that index to make a list of files
  12. containing the specified keywords.
  13.  
  14. LOCATE is published as "user supported software" or "shareware".  We
  15. would like to receive a "use fee" of $20 per user and a support fee of
  16. $20 per user per year per year if you need our help.  Once the license
  17. agreement is executed, we would like you to make and distribute copies
  18. of the diskette.

  20. There is no manual.  The diskette contains numerous files on various
  21. aspects of the programs.  Print what you need.  An overview of the
  22. technology is contained in "CAFR" and enough instructions to run the
  23. program are contained in "INSTALL", "INDEXOP", and "LOCATEOP".

  25. We are primarily interested in developing novel and useful software.
  26. LOCATE is but one small example of the kind of things we do.  We
  27. would like to explore other ventures with users and software developers.
